Did somebody say Monday? Pop on down to your regular VATPAC event, Milk Run Monday. Tonight's edition includes Windshear with Runway 09 Active at Melbourne, Runway 07 and reduced visibility in Haze at Sydney and Enroute winds in excess of 150kts at FL380!

Because we love friendly competition here at VATPAC, Let's see who can fly MEL-SYD and SYD-MEL the fastest. Record your time from Takeoff to Landing and post it below! We'll announce a winner later this evening :D
NOTAMs / Town Hall meeting invitation to all active VATPAC Members
« Last post by Tracy Shiffman on August 12, 2017, 04:19:08 PM »
Active VATPAC members are invited to join new Board members at a Town Hall meeting to be held next week.
There won't be any "Independence Day" rallying-of-the-troops speeches.
Personal attacks on any individual won't be tolerated.
All newly appointed Board members will be present to answer your questions as best we can.
There will likely be some (let's call it) spirited discussion, there will likely be pot stirrers, there will likely be a lot of questions we just can't answer yet.
Please join us if you can.

NOTAMs / Ryan Steffe departs the training team
« Last post by Tracy Shiffman on August 11, 2017, 09:12:36 PM »
It is with the utmost thanks that we announce that Ryan Steffe has departed from the training team.
Ryan's rise from S2 to I3 can only be described as barely believable. I've been around for a while and I'm not entirely sure I can recall the names of many people that have the ability to learn and apply with the speed and accuracy that Ryan can. Most of the names I can recall went on to become either commercial pilots or real world ATC.
Ryan's contributions to VATPAC behind the scenes has been pretty much the same. There are exciting things coming in the training arena that Ryan has been instrumental in developing.
Thank you Ryan for all your efforts.
NOTAMs / A short summary from VATPAC1

Hello valued VATPAC family,

I will be brief.
It's been a busy and fatiguing week and I appreciate your patience. That sentiment is sincere. I have been afforded the time and discretion I required to do what I felt needed doing and again, I appreciate it.
I am pleased to report that all positions recently vacated at Board, Senior Staff, and Staff levels have now been filled, or have no immediate need to be filled. Smooth handovers are either scheduled, in progress, or already complete and I personally thank all outgoing staff for making this mass transition much smoother than circumstances arguably warrant.

As VATPAC1, my next priority is to convene an Extraordinary Board Meeting. I expect this to occur on Sunday evening. After that, I hope to convene several Town Hall meetings with different groups, culminating with a general Town Hall Meeting open to the wider VATPAC Membership.

I will report back to you all next week. In the interim, if anyone has anything they feel they would like to discuss with me in private, please email me at director at vatpac dot org.

NOTAMs / Deputy Director, IT role

Nathan Opresnik has stepped down from his role as Deputy Director, IT. For months Nathan has been toiling away in the background helping to keep our IT systems in the great shape it's in today. Nathan's time commitments in the real world are now more pressing but we suspect he'll be back at some point.
Thanks Nathan, appreciate all your efforts!

Harrison Scott has been appointed as Deputy Director, IT. Harrison has actually been working on the IT team for some time and is already fully cognizant of the systems.
Congratulations Harrison!

Ryan Steffe has, regrettably, stepped down from his position as Deputy Director ATC Training.
Ryan has been instrumental in keeping the training system running since taking over the role. His attention to detail and remarkable controlling talents will stand him in good stead as he concentrates more on his studies towards becoming a real world a few in that role have done before him.
Good luck Ryan, and thank you from a grateful community.

Daniel Martin has been appointed as the new Deputy Director ATC Training.
Welcome aboard Daniel, your enthusiasm and determination will be welcome fuel in the engine room that is the VATPAC Training department.

It is with regret I announce that today, Zach Biesse-Fitton's resignation as VATPAC Director, IT was accepted.
Zach's tireless work since he wasn't old enough to be in control of his own bedtime is a key reason you all enjoy the community experience you love. Together with his team he has done the IT equivalent of turning lead into gold.
Zach, I'm sure everyone who's logged on to anything VATPAC in the last few years now joins me in extending their gratitude for your work.

Steven Brown has been appointed as (acting) VATPAC Director, IT.
Known to most of us as "Browny", Steven has a long history with VATPAC.....some of it's even good!
Welcome home Browny.
