This event began 02/04/19 and repeats every week on Monday for 6 occurrences

By far the most popular of our regular weekly events, on any given Milk Run Monday you'll find the famous "J-Curve" between Melbourne and Sydney well serviced by both pilots and ATC.
Not to be confused with our Spilled Milk Run Monday events, details of which can be found on the Spilled Milk Run page, the Milk Run invites you to fly in any direction between Sydney and Melbourne and all destinations in between (Canberra, Albury etc).
Prefer to control? We recommend getting in early. ATC positions on Milk Run Monday are often scarce so definitely worth being an early bird.
Traffic levels traditionally start to pick up at around 7:30pm AEST / AEDT and generally peak between 8:30pm and 9:30pm AEST / AEDT.

Event Details
This week VFR Operations flies between Moorabbin and Stawell. For the Friday flight, VFR Operations will conduct a "Fly in/Fly out" of the Avalon airshow enroute. As such, the flight is to be conducted in two parts. The first from Moorabbin to Avalon where at the completion of that flight a complete reset occurs prior to conducting the next leg Avalon to Stawell.
It is a strong recommendation that pilots undertake some familiarisation with the approaches and departures around Avalon prior to participating in this event. Should there be an ATC presence pilots will be expected to understand the relevant procedures.
Simulation Date/Time : Current date set to daylight.
Weather : Real World / Fair weather if real world is unsuitable for VFR operations.
Distance : 164 nm over two legs.
Est Flight Time : approx 85 mins
Aircraft : Single or twin engine aircraft such as Beechcraft Baron, Mooney Bravo or similar capable of 155 to 185 kias.
Communications : Australia uses CTAF (Common Traffic Advisory Frequency) for radio comms at uncontrolled airfields. VATSIM pilots connecting to the network using FSCOPILOT/FSINN can install an additional file that provides the ability to tune the CTAF frequency and make voice announcements to other pilots on frequency. These files can be obtained via this link.
For pilots connecting to VATSIM using VPilot, there is a work around that enables these pilots to also take advantage of online voice CTAF. Refer to this informative VATPAC Forum post to learn how to implement the work around. Similarly, this work around has been reported to be successfully adopted for X-Plane using the X-Squawkbox client. As of yet there are no available instructions for doing this.
Altitude : remain outside Melbourne controlled airspace
GPS Flightplan is available for FSX and X-Plane FMS and also provided is the original Plan-G flightplan for those that find this useful all enclosed within a Zip archive.
Navigation : Pilots familiar with the area can navigate visually, for those less familiar the accompanying GPS Flightplan is the recommended method of navigating the flight plan.

It's time for another VATSIM Australia Pacific Event - This time, we are teaming up with VASIM South East Asia's Indonesia vACC to host a brand new VATPAC Event - A City Pair between Ngurah Rai International Airport (WADD) and Perth International Airport (YPPH)!
Expect full ATC Coverage from 0800z to 1300z between WADD and YPPH!

What is a City Pair Event?
Put simply, a City Pair event is exactly what the name suggests - Two vACC's (or a vACC and Division in this case) Team up to provide Air Traffic Control Services between two airports of their choice.

Recommended Route:
VATSIM Australia Pacific has provided a Recommended Route for pilots to take during the even, this is;
MURAI G578 EGATU L514 MUNNI L514 REVOP Q38 JULIM
Pilots can also expect the MURAI2A or MURAI2B SID Departing WADD and the JUILM4A STAR Arriving into YPPH

That's all good, but how do I get involved?
What a great question! As there is no booking system for Pilots to utilize, you are free to load up at WADD with a departure window between 0800z - 0930z where you can expect full ATC Coverage from WADD -> YPPH (Yes, even over the Ocean!)

For ATC Controllers:
For VATSIM Australia Pacific & Indonesia vACC ATC - Please access the VATPAC City Pair Website -> events.vatpac.org/citypair <- and login via VATSIM SSO - Here you can apply to control, select the times and preferred positions you would like to control. The roster will be released on Thursday the 21st of March.

We look forward to seeing you there!

This event begins 04/01/19 and repeats every week for 2 occurrences

      Communications
Australia uses CTAF (Common Traffic Advisory Frequency) for radio comms at uncontrolled airfields. During an event, Pilots are requested to broadcast intentions on the published CTAF. Pilots should also be aware that it is a VATSIM CoC (Code of Conduct) requirement that all pilots at uncontrolled airfields should monitor UNICOM on 122.800. Pilots should ensure that at least one of their radios (COM 2 being the most likely) is tuned to receive UNICOM transmissions in addition to transmitting and receiving on the published CTAF.
Pilots also should read this post regarding the implications of using VATSIM UNICOM for CTAF. It provides some insight into potential pitfalls for the unwary when monitoring 122.80 in a CTAF environment.

You know it’s the end of the month when Spilled Milk Run Monday is back on the calendar. This Easter, we are bringing back the popular Easter Egg Hunt! On the 1st of April, depart Sydney in search of 3 easter eggs at three differrent airports inside the great state of New South Wales.
The first pilot to identify, fly to and land at each airport wins!
Hints for where these airports will be released on the VATPAC Discord.

      Edition Details:
The Idea of this Edition of Spilled Milk Run Monday is similar to the Easter Egg Hunt we did last year. From 0800z, one hint will be released every 30 minutes on the VATPAC Discord providing 3 different hints, one for each of the three different airport locations. Pilots then depart Sydney in search for the airports. Once a pilot lands at the airport they believe the Easter egg is at, they take a screenshot and post it in the VATPAC Discord's Event Channel. The first pilot to correctly land and take a screenshot at each airport wins!
Pilots and controllers must follow the relevant criteria below in order to be eligible to win a prize!

      Edition Details:
thanks to the generous donations of some of the VATPAC staff, there will be four prizes up for grabs during the Easter egg hunt. The prizes are as follows:
Pilots: 3 x  €10 ($15AUD) simMarket Gift Vouchers - 1 per airport Controllers: 1 x €10 ($15AUD) simMarket Gift Voucher - all eligible controllers will be added to a draw and randomly selected to win the prize. In order to be eligible to win one of the prizes pilots and controllers must follow the following procedures:
      Pilots:
All pilots must depart Sydney (YSSY) and remain online and connected for the duration of the flight Pilots must not use any sim rate enhancement at any time. Doing so will automatically result in disqualification. Pilots must follow all controller instructions and not take purposeful shortcuts or refuse sequencing to try and shorten the duration of their flight. VATPAC events staff, senior staff and directors are not eligible to win pilot prizes. Pilots must not use high performance aircraft to reduce their flights duration. This includes fighter jets, high altitude / speed airliners such as the Concorde, or any other aircraft purposely chosen for an unrealistic speed advantage. Upon arrival at the chosen airfield, pilots must post a screenshot on the VATPAC discord #events channel showing their simulator, and a tracking software (Volanta, Simaware) with the flight plan showing the whole flight and tag an event coordinator. Pilots are only eligible to receive one (1) prize. Pilot can only depart Sydney once the first hint is released. All flights to correct airports will be closely tracked by Event Coordinators. If a member of the events team believes your flight was not in observance of the above criteria, or that you had any form of unfair advantage, they may deem you ineligible to receive a prize.

      Controllers:
All rostered and unrostered controllers who contributed for at least one hour will be considered for the prize Controllers not active for the duration of their rostered period (without a valid excuse) will be ineligible for the draw Controllers who already received a pilot prize will not be eligible for the draw At the close of the event the winners of each category will be announced.

      Controllers:

This Weeks Flight for Wednesday 3rd April 2024 takes us to the Caribbean flying an island hop from Point-a-Pitre in French Gaudeloupe (TFFR) to the famous Princess Juliana Int'l in the Netherland Antilles (TNCM).
Highlights will be two of the most dangerous airfields in the world, Gustaf III Airport (TFFJ) on St Barthelemy Island with a very steep arrival and the other being Juancho E. Yrausquin Airport on the island of SABA which is only 400 metres in length.
Approaches in to Gustaf III Airport (TFFJ) can use either rwy 10 (left hand pattern) or rwy 28 (also left hand pattern). The arrival using rwy 10 is very steep which makes it quite dangerous. NB: rwy 28 can only be used for full stop arrivals so any T&G's will have to use rwy 10, the steep one). Airport is open to all traffic however note aircraft type required. Refer link for details.
Approaches into SABA (TNCS) can use either rwy 12 (Lefthand pattern) or Rwy 30 (Right hand pattern). Runways both have an “X” at each end however this just represents the fact that the airport is closed to all but specific licenced traffic. Refer link for details.

      Scenery
Due to the plethora of simulation platforms now being used, scenery is left to the discretion of each pilot.
