This Weeks Flight for Wednesday 28th February 2024 finds us in United Kingdom completing the A1 Highway tour from Sherburn-In-Elmet (EGCJ) to it's destination at Edinburgh. We will complete the flight at Edinburgh (EGPH).
The A1 is the main highway in UK joining London with Edinburgh. It is commonly called the Great North Road.
I have not altered the flight plan which is always a guide only, but after departing Sherburn-In-Elmet head east for about 5nm which will pick up the A1 and also avoid RAF Church Fenton. Stay about 6nm to the west of the highway for about 30nm to avoid other RAF Bases especially RAF Leeming. We pass thru Newcastle Airport space so obtain any clearances if ATC on line otherwise follow relevant airspace.
On entering EDI (Edinburgh) airspace first report point at Musselburgh Racecourse. Refer attached Visual Report Points Chart
