Welcome to our first major event for 2021, Transcon Shuttle Sydney. Fly from either Broome (YBRM), Alice Springs (YBAS) or Adelaide (YPAD) to Sydney (YSSY). Each departure airport has a different departure window based off the flight time.
Event Details:
Transcon Shuttle is an event designed to provide pilots with the opportunity to receive ATC services as they cross the country from nominated departure locations, inbound chosen arrival aerodrome.
This round, we have provided you with three departure airports ranging between 4.5 -> 2hrs in length all inbound one arrival aerodrome. This event is designed to provide pilots with the opportunity to explore the country from three different locations, travel across the country, and arrive into one concentrated arrival aerodrome. Controllers get the chance to control new and exciting locations with larger levels of traffic and create a sequence inbound to the arrival aerodrome.

Departure Window:
For each of the departure aerodromes, a 2-hour controller block has been rostered to provide ATC services to departure aircraft. You are recommended to depart during this time to arrive in Sydney with ATC Services. The rostered time for all aerodromes is below:
Broome: 0300z - 0500z Alice Springs: 0430z - 0630z Adelaide: 0530z - 0730z The planned arrival time into Sydney is between 0730-0930z however ATC will be online between 0630z-1030z .

VATPAC and QVirtual are teaming up to bring you a one-off event. Cue the welcoming of QVirtual 10th Birthday Bash!
Today we are celebrating 10 years of Qantas Virtual! If you like to fly IFR in a commercial jet or small turboprop, then this is the event for you. Enjoy the beautiful scenery that the QLD and NSW coast's offer within your simulators!

Information:
Today, we celebrate 10 Years since QVirtual was established, and invite members of both QVirtual and the VATSIM Community to fly between Brisbane International Airport (YBBN) and Sydney International Airport (YSSY).
Pilots can expect ATC to be online between the nominated airfields from 0600z - 1000z!
ATC can expect to apply their sequencing skills to generate a pleasant flow of traffic between the nominated airfields.
From QVirtual:
Our mission at QVirtual is to provide our pilots with the most accurate and realistic experience as possible. We achieve this by simulating the day-to-day operations of Qantas and its codeshare partners. Our schedule system contains over 36000+ schedules that gives pilots the opportunity to fly to all continents.
We also simulate a pilot training academy where numerous courses are available for those who are willing to extend their love or knowledge for aviation through a better understanding of it as a whole.
Keep your eye out for the QVirtual pilots flying out of YLRE the 'Spiritual' home of Qantas

Routes:
We recommend the following routes for you to fly during this event; however, you are more than welcome to fly to different aerodromes within the coverage area!

      Communications
Australia uses CTAF (Common Traffic Advisory Frequency) for radio comms at uncontrolled airfields. During an event, Pilots are requested to broadcast intentions on the published CTAF. Pilots should also be aware that it is a VATSIM CoC (Code of Conduct) requirement that all pilots at uncontrolled airfields should monitor UNICOM on 122.800. Pilots should ensure that at least one of their radios (COM 2 being the most likely) is tuned to receive UNICOM transmissions in addition to transmitting and receiving on the published CTAF.
Pilots also should read this post regarding the implications of using VATSIM UNICOM for CTAF. It provides some insight into potential pitfalls for the unwary when monitoring 122.80 in a CTAF environment.

      Scenery
Due to the plethora of simulation platforms now being used, scenery is left to the discretion of each pilot.
