Air New Zealand 767 - One Final Journey

The Boeing 767 has been loved dearly by many aviation enthusiasts around New Zealand, Australia and the rest of the world for the past 32 years it has been in service with Air New Zealand starting with the -200ER series in 1985 then followed by the -300ER series in 1991. The 767 has since carried millions of passengers on many routes, ranging from trans-Tasman flights to long-haul Asia/Hawaii flights and the Auckland-Rarotonga-Los Angeles service.

The final 767 service for Air New Zealand, from Sydney to Auckland as NZ108/ANZ108 will take place on the 31st March 2017. To commemorate this, we will host this event on the same day, from 5pm AEDT (0600z) to 10pm AEDT (1100z) minutes after the scheduled arrival of the last 767 flight in the real world. The Sydney-Auckland route is usually served with 777s, 787s, the 767 and A320s, but we will be taking the 767 for one last flight after 32 years of graceful service.

Flight plan route:
TESAT L521 AA

To book controller positions or flights, you are more than welcome to do so via Vroute for VATNZ positions. VATPAC positions are not necessary for bookings as VATPAC doesn't utilise Vroute.

Myself and the VATNZ events team if they're gonna collaborate. As this event is happening in VATPAC airspace and VATNZ airspace, I posted both here and on the VATNZ forums.

Hmm....probably best not to suggest either department is on board until they actually are....might not be appreciated....not that I doubt they'd get on board.....if asked.  8)

I agree, although it is definitely a good idea, you should check with both Event Departments prior posting anything on either divisions forms.

I think you both need to take a chill pill!  ;D After all, Zain posted in the forum marked "Discuss international, affiliate VA and other non-official events."

Sounds interesting Zain. If the events team confirms their support (from VATPAC), i'm sure we can add it to the Calendar.

Thanks guys. NOTE: this is posted on the VATNZ forums as well: http://www.vatnz.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=4494&p=21382

Also, you guys can bring the Qantas 767s back from the dead and accompany the Air New Zealand 767s on a final journey as well, to show some ANZAC, VATPAC-VATNZ etc. style union, despite the 767s of Air New Zealand lasting longer in service than the Qantas 767s.
